Established in 1990, Dr. M.V. Shetty College of Physiotherapy offers the Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) program, affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, Karnataka. We focus on enhancing physical well-being, addressing various health challenges through high-quality education, and comprehensive clinical training.

 

About Course

The Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) program at Dr. M.V. Shetty College of Physiotherapy is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to become competent physiotherapy professionals. Through a rigorous curriculum, hands-on clinical training, and exposure to various aspects of physiotherapy, students learn to assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of physical conditions and disabilities. This four-year undergraduate program, affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, Karnataka, prepares students for rewarding careers in healthcare, focusing on physical rehabilitation and improving the quality of life for individuals of all ages.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION:

A candidate seeking admission to first year Bachelor in Physiotherapy (BPT):

  • Should have passed two years pre-university examination conducted by department of Pre-University education, Karnataka state, with English as one of the subject and Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects individually.
  • Should have passed any other examination conducted by Boards/Councils/Intermediate Examination established by state Government /Central Government and recognized as equivalent to a two years Pre-University examination by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences/Association of Indian Universities (AIU), with English as one of the subject and Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and also individually.
  • Candidates who have completed Pre-University course with vocational Physiotherapy as their optional subject are eligible for this course.

Marks :

Selection of the students to a course of Physiotherapy will be based on merit provided that:

  • In case of admission on the basis of qualifying examination, a candidate for admission to BPT course must have passed individually in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English and must have obtained not less than 45% marks.
  • In respect to candidates belonging to scheduled castes, scheduled tribes or category I, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology together in qualifying examination is not less than 40% instead of 45% as above.

Documents required for Admission

Following Original Certificates should be submitted at the time of Admission with one set of attested copy :

  • Aadhar Id(Xerox copy)
  • S.S.L.C. (10th)
  • Marks cards of the qualifying exam i.e. 10+2 (both 11th and 12th Year) for UG course
  • Transfer certificate issued by the college/School last studied
  • Character/conduct certificate issued by the College/School last studied
  • Physical fitness certificate issued by the Government Medical Officer
  • Pass port size photograph 8
  • For students from Nepal: Provisional Pass Certificate or Degree certificate issued by the University/Board
  • Nepalese citizenship certificate and date of birth in Indian Almanac (A.D.)
  • For students from another country: Passport and student visa and date of birth in Indian Almanac.
  • Eligibility certificate for UG: Students who have completed their qualifying examinations outside Karnataka should apply for an eligibility certificate to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore through online. Payment of Rs. 1100/- for Indian's and for NRI/SAARC (Nepal) Rs. 5,100/- payable by cash.
